8 of the Worst Lies about Weight Loss

Wouldn't it be great if a chocolate ice cream diet were the answers to your problems? It sounds amazing, but unfortunately is way too good to be true.

It seems like every day there is a new dieting tip, out there and it can be very confusing to know which are true and which are downright false. The nutritional needs of each person can vary greatly; yet we all hope for the one easy diet that fits all.

If you're having trouble losing weight, the problem may be with your approach, not your willpower. Before you commit yourself to a boot camp, or cut all fat from you diet, let's set the record about healthy eating straight.

1. No Diet Works Miracles

The initial success of a diet can certainly make you believe in miracles, but fad diets do not promote long-term weight loss. People are likely to quit extreme diets that promote quick weight loss because they are just too strict.

These diets are also difficult because they may be deficient in necessary nutrients. When your body craves nutrients, it will continue to seek out food even once calorie needs are met. Be aware of what your body craves, and you'll be more satiated throughout the day.

2. Carbs are the Enemy

Even though there are many stories about how a high-protein, low-carb diet produces weight loss, that doesn't mean it is the healthiest choice.

Your risk of heart disease may increase due to all the cholesterol that comes with consuming the fat in meat and eggs. There may also be a lack of fiber-rich veggies and whole grains in this diet, which provide essential nutrients and antioxidants.

The side effects of not feeding your body properly include dizziness, weakness, nausea, fatigue and even depression. You need a wide variety of foods to fuel your body so be sure to enjoy a balanced diet.

3. Diet Sodas Promote Weight Loss

Diet sodas have long been a go-to choice for those hoping to lose weight, but recent studies have shown that they are not as healthy as they appear. It turns out that people who drink diet sodas have larger waists than those who do not.

So if they are fat-free and zero-calorie, then what is the problem? The artificial sweeteners used in these drinks make your brain look for nutrients, but it finds none, triggering the brain to search for more food.

4. Fat-Free Means No Limits

It's a great marketing tool, but it really doesn't help you lose weight. Your body needs healthy fats to survive so this isn't a smart solution, and it won't mean you're cutting calories.

Foods that are marked low-fat or fat-free are often full of sugar or salt to make up for the loss of flavorful fat. They also tend to have more artificial ingredients than their full-fat cousins.

The concept of fat-free can be deceiving. Since it is less satisfying than the real thing, you are more likely to talk yourself into another serving of something if it is labeled fat-free, adding on additional unwanted calories.

5. There Are Magic Foods

From the cabbage soup diet to munching on apples and celery, there are a lot of ideas about what foods promote weight loss. The fact is that a calorie is a calorie, and after a while, you'll be sick of eating the same thing.

There are no foods that can burn fat for you, and by limiting yourself to cabbage broth for days on end, you may be missing out on essential nutrients. Remember when you starve your body, it likes to hang onto extra weight.

6. If It's Herbal, It's Safe

You know that ephedra-style weight loss pills can be dangerous, but what about something from the herbal supplement section? Bad news: Just because something is labeled "herbal" or "all-natural" doesn't necessarily mean it is safe.

There is little regulation on herbal products and no requirement that they be proven effective. Products that are untested or from foreign countries can have dangerous amounts of unhealthy and even toxic ingredients.

7. Fear of the Female Hulk

Lots of women shy away from lifting weights and eating lots of protein because they claim it will make them look like a man. The truth is that women just don't have enough testosterone to grow muscles that will bust through their clothes.

In fact, weightlifting is great for weight loss because it helps you burn calories and build lean - meaning not bulky! - muscle mass. The more muscle you have, the more calories you will burn throughout the day, not just during exercise. You'll also look and feel stronger.

8. Don't Snack After Midnight

Some experts say that you should not eat later in the evening, up to 3 or 4 hours before you hit the sheets. They claim that your body will store the calories from late night munching directly as fat since you are not burning many calories in your sleep.

It's unlikely there's any truth to this because your total calorie intake for the whole day has much more influence on whether or not you gain weight. But by the time ten o'clock rolls around, most of us have eaten our limit in fat and calories anyway.

Time after time, scientists recommend expending more calories than you consume, rather than looking for a magic pill or secret food that will melt the pounds away.

Diet is the biggest factor of effective and healthy fat loss, and if you can nail your eating habits, then you'll never have to worry about your weight again.

How To Lose 30 Pounds In 30 Days ? How Tihs Woman Lost 30 Pounds ?

Hi, I’m Bridgette and I’m 41 years young! I’d like to share my story of how I lost 32 pounds in 29 days with RESURGE Deep Sleep and HGH Support Formula. Did you ever notice that when you’re fat, men don’t look you in the eye? They look across your shoulder. There’s no eye contact. Up until two years ago, I was never looked in the eye. By anyone. I was too tired to be a lover to my husband. I was falling asleep by 8 o’clock most evenings. When I did go out for an evening, my husband was ashamed of me. And he said so to my face. When I walked, my thighs brushed together. I couldn’t even cross my legs. I was fat. Not just “overweight.” Fat. I was 5’5 tall and weighed 205 pounds. About 18 months ago, my husband George left a “Dear Brenda” letter on my dresser. And filed for divorce. I knew that my weight was the source of my troubles so I tried 14 different diets. One by one. And I failed at all of them. The chance encounter that changed everything ...
